Please note: Cost assists with covering extensive supplies for in-class activities, take home items and live animals. For example in 2025 it included: a take-home individual flower press, plants, seeds, mini bug hotel, clay tea light and candle, hand-made recycled paper card and gift bag, plus live insects every week, flowers, selection of fruits and vegetables for seed saving, a native butterfly and spotted ladybug release, activity sheets and a hand knitted koala!

Keep kids curious and captivated with Koaleyos immersive Nature Classes — tailor-made for Prep to Grade 6 groups! Our sessions are packed with hands-on activities, outdoor discovery and learning that feels like play.

All classes are STEAM-focused, encouraging busy young minds to question, explore and discover the wonders of nature. Budding nature-lovers will leave feeling amazed and buzzing with excitement!

Each term will include:

🌿 Tactile & Immersive experiences / activities

🌿 Live animal encounters (live animals will either be brought to class or explored for on campus!)

🌿 Nature Journal

🌿 Weekly information sheets and fun sheets (these get glued into the Nature Journal and is taken home in week 10)

When:

Term 3, 2026: Mondays in Room B13: 3:15-5:00pm at West End State School

What to bring to class: Please bring extra snacks for after school munchies

Student collection: Prep and Grade 1 students will be collected from under L Block – all other students will make their way to the room directly after class. A class roll call will be conducted at commencement and conclusion

Term 3, 2026 Program:

Week 1: Herbs and spices

Activity: Creating a take home planting pack of pots, seeds, soil, information sheet, labels plus a decoration!

Week 2: Fun activities you can do in nature!

This class will be conducted mainly outdoors and could be rescheduled due to weather

Activity: Let’s get messy! Mud cakes, obstacle course, naughts and crosses, throw the item, flashlight games, i-spy, bingo and more!

Week 3: Exploring Costa Rica! (one of the most successful rewilding countries in the world)!

Activity: Making an amazing animal

Week 4: Secret animals, those recently discovered and record holders!

Activity: Looking for animals and re-creating records!

Week 5: Musical Nature! Exploring sounds

Activity: Making something musical

Week 6: Natural products in your home

Activity: Making secret gifts for Fathers Day

Week 7: A native land animal and native sea animal

Activity: Making secret gifts for Fathers Day

Week 8: Savannah

Activity: Safari trip! Dress up in safari hats...

Week 9: Flower art!

Activity: Outdoor painting canvasses and more

Week 10: Becoming an author of a nature book

Activity: Writing and illustrating a story

At 4:30pm - Parents / Carers are invited to attend a live animal release or tree planting (instant photo taken) plus awarding of a certificate and take home bag, stickers, packet of seeds and more!
