Action-Packed Fun: Interactive ECA Program!

Keep kids curious and captivated with Koaleyos immersive Nature Classes — tailor-made for Prep to Grade 6 groups! Our sessions are packed with hands-on activities, outdoor discovery and learning that feels like play.

All classes are STEAM-focused, encouraging busy young minds to question, explore and discover the wonders of nature. Budding nature-lovers will leave feeling amazed and buzzing with excitement!

Each term will include:

🌿 Tactile & Immersive experiences / activities

🌿 Live animal encounters (live animals will either be brought to class or explored for on campus!)

🌿 Nature Journal

🌿 Weekly information sheets and fun sheets (these get glued into the Nature Journal and is taken home in week 10)

When:

Term 3, 2026: Mondays in Room B13: 3:15-5:00pm at West End State School

What to bring to class: Please bring extra snacks for after school munchies

Student collection: Prep and Grade 1 students will be collected from under L Block – all other students will make their way to the room directly after class. A class roll call will be conducted at commencement and conclusion

Activity: Safari trip! Dress up in safari hats...

Week 9: Flower art!

Activity: Outdoor painting canvasses and more

This class will be conducted mainly outdoors and could be rescheduled due to weather

Week 10: Becoming an author of a nature book

Activity: Writing and illustrating a story

Term 4, 2026 Program:

Week 1: Public Holiday - no class

Week 2: Seed saving and tasting fruit!

Activity: Seed saving! Let’s get messy and learn how to save seeds.

Activity: Enjoy delicious organic and locally grown fruits! Miss Viv knows lots of local farmers...

Week 3: Plants and creating take-home planting packs with growing canopy!

Activity: Creating a take home planting pack of pots, seeds, soil, growing canopy, information sheet, labels plus a decoration!

Activity: Learning about planting by the seasons - what grows best when? Planting chart!

Week 4: Good inventions! Machines, living minimally and more...

Activity: Looking at how robots can help our environment

Week 5: A native land animal and native sea animal

Activity: Making creative animals!

Week 6: Become a citizen scientist!

Activity: Exploring all the amazing projects available around Brisbane and how you can help! Let’s get outside and see if we can find an animal to research...

At 4:30pm - Parents / Carers are invited to attend a live animal release or tree planting (instant photo taken) plus awarding of a certificate and take home bag, stickers, packet of seeds and more!
