Please note: Cost assists with covering extensive supplies for in-class activities and take home items.
For example in Term 3 it included: a take-home individual flower press, plant, seeds, mini bug hotel, clay tea light and candle, hand-made recycled paper card and gift bag, plus live insects every week, flowers, selection of fruits and vegetables for seed saving, a native butterfly release and a hand knitted koala!
Term 4 Classes: Book early for a discounted price of $325 (normally $350) for the 10 week classes

When: Monday 15 + Tuesday 16 December from 9am - 4pm

Keep kids curious and captivated with Koaleyos immersive Nature Classes — tailor-made for Prep to Grade 6 groups! Our sessions are packed with hands-on activities, outdoor discovery and learning that feels like play.

All classes are STEAM-focused, encouraging busy young minds to question, explore and discover the wonders of nature. Budding nature-lovers will leave feeling amazed and buzzing with excitement!
Each term will include:

🌿 Weekly take-home activity sheets
When:
Term 4: 1 afternoon / week on either Tuesdays or Wednesdays
(identical classes): 3:15pm – 5:00pm at WESS
Where:
ECAs: Room J32 (overlooking Jane Street Oval) at WESS
Student collection: Prep students will be collected – all other students will make their way to room directly after class. A class roll call will be conducted at commencement and conclusion.

Week 1: Theme: Extraordinary Plants of the World
Activities:
- Seed Bombs!
- Planting succulents and propagating
Week 2: Theme: Let's go camping! (mock-up in the classroom)
Activities:
- What to pack
- How to put together a tent
- Marshmallows on sticks
- Things to be aware of in nature
Week 3: Theme: Native Land and Sea Animal
Activities:
- Dress ups and making a mask and ears
Week 4: Theme: 'Spooky Halloween' - Scary things in Nature (and how some are not so scary)
Activities:
- Compostable and biodegradable disappearing ghosts
- Making a lantern
- Seed saving pumpkin seeds!
Week 5: Theme: Reading the starry night sky and space!
Activity:
- Looking at constellation shapes
Week 6: Theme: Seeds are SUPER important!
Activities:
- Seed Saving
- Grassy Heads
- Seed Games! - what seeds are these and what seeds can you eat
Week 7: Theme: Reefs
Activities:
- Making sea creatures from recycled materials
Week 8: Theme: Trees
Activities:
- Paperbark art
- Guessing the tree
Week 9: Theme: Deserts!
Activities:
- Sand dig for desert animals
- Desert items hidden in the room
Week 10: Theme: Composting and WORMS!
Activities:
- playing with worms
- composting scraps
- Ladybug or Butterfly Release! (parent / carer attendance if possible)
- Plant pots – take home!
- Certificate with Fujifilm instax photo
- Take home bag with stickers
